School Social Worker
School Social Worker
Our full-time social worker is a trusted adult in the building for students needing a safe, confidential, quiet, welcoming space to reset during the school day. The Social Worker office is the Raven Haven, located on the 2nd floor, with fidgets, art supplies, calming music, and comfortable spaces to decompress and get support. The Social Worker:
- Removes social/emotional barriers to learning
- Offers social, emotional, mental health and crisis support
- Connects students and families to mental health and community resources
- Provides Basic needs support through our Ravens Care Closet and Weekend Food
- McKinney Vento/Homeless Liaison and Foster Care Point of Contact
- Refer your child to the School Social Worker
Sign your child up for Weekend Food (weekly on Thursdays. Students receive a note during their 6th period to remind them to pick up the free bag as they leave school).

Carrie Syvertsen, MSW LICSW: I’m in my 21st year working in the school system as a School Social Worker and my 8th year at Robert Eagle Staff. My whole career has been in Middle Schools and High Schools and I absolutely love working with this age group. My second language is Spanish, living abroad in Guatemala and Spain and my passion is connecting with Latino students and families. When I’m not at work, my husband and I are often on the sidelines of the multiple sports our two boys, ages 11 and 14 play. We love to venture into the mountains, play in the water, attend as many live music shows (and rock out a little in our family band too!). In my free time, I love to spend time with friends, cook, yoga, trail run and travel to explore new and exciting places.
