Eagle Staff School Leader Update
Posted: | Updated:
Dear Robert Eagle Staff Middle School Families and Staff,
I am pleased to announce Zach Stowell has been selected to be the next principal of Robert Eagle Staff Middle School based on his proven leadership and commitment to educational excellence, anti-racist and equity driven instruction, and the strong work he has led in building collaborative communities.
Mr. Stowell’s background includes his current role as the principal of Greenwood Elementary, and prior work as an assistant principal at Catharine Blaine K-8, where he led the middle school team, as well as serving as a mentor teacher with our STAR mentorship program and as a classroom teacher at Northgate Elementary.
His specific connection and passion for the Greenwood, Eagle Staff, Broadview Thompson, and Northgate communities was a critical element in his being selected to this new role. His leadership and instructional work were shaped by his master’s degree in administrative leadership from Western Washington University and bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Washington University.
While Mr. Stowell’s official start date will be Friday, July 1, 2022, he is excited to begin his work at Eagle Staff, and will begin the process of connecting with staff, families, and students during the final weeks of the current school year, as well as during the summer months.
Please welcome Principal Stowell. I also want to thank Dr. Campbell and Assistant Principal Pearl, founding leaders of Eagle Staff Middle School, who will each be taking on new leadership roles in Seattle Public Schools.
Thank you both for helping our Ravens soar!
Dr. Brent Jones
Superintendent
Seattle Public Schools
