Good morning Robert Eagle Staff and welcome to the week of January 16th!

     Here’s the Raven news:

Congratulations to our Varsity and Junior Varsity Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball teams.  They faced off against Aki Kurose on Saturday, and played with guts and tenacity.  Varsity Girls scored a win against Pathfinder K-8, and played with skill and great sportsmanship.

    • Come out and support the teams this Saturday January 20th.  Varsity Girls and Boys both play Eckstein at 8 am at Nathan Hale.  JV Girls and Boys both play Eckstein at 8:30 am at Jane Addams MS.  Come out and support our athletes!
    • Our Eagle Staff Orchestra is playing at the SPS Board meeting this Wednesday.  This is a great chance for our community to celebrate our wonderful musicians!
    • Open House for new students takes place next Wednesday January 24th.  The focus will be on SOAR-ing up to middle school.  Open House will be from 6 to 7:30 pm, beginning in the Commons.
    • Auditions for our Eagle Staff Musical Alice in Wonderland are taking place on today and Thursday, January 16th and January 18th after school on the stage.  Good luck and have fun Ravens!
    • Our student leaders are sponsoring a warm winter gear drive from January 22 to January 26.  Students should watch for posters with more information.
    • Sixth graders:  We have a field trip coming up in February to see The Little Prince at Seattle Children’s Theater.  Be on the lookout for permission forms and more information.
    • Students: If you arrive at school any time before 8:30, please stay in the lunchroom.  That way we can be sure that you are safe and supervised.
    • We hope that you had a “day on” yesterday, and spent time in service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Today, we hope that you will remember that part of Academic Focus is committing to using your learning to make your community more just and peaceful.  Take a chance today to show kindness and patience to someone.  Together we can make our world more just and peaceful.

    Thank you for SOAR-ing Ravens!
